Department: Reception/Life Enrichment

Cindy, one of SpringBrook’s receptionists, was nominated for many reasons; she comes in to help with events and cover shifts, residents are always her top priority, and she works tirelessly in the dining room during mealtime.

Cindy’s favorite thing about working at SpringBrook is the residents, and they make her job worthwhile. Cindy told us about a funny moment she shared with a resident; she was in the dining room warming up a dish in the microwave, and the food blew up. She served the resident the food, and he thought it was hilarious. She did get him more food after the laughter died down.

Cindy would love all new staff to know how kind SpringBrook residents are, and how much they appreciate all that staff does for them. Thank you for being part of our SpringBrook team Cindy. We value all of your hard work!

February Employee of the Month

Department: Healthcare

Salem, a Resident Care Assistant was nominated for many reasons; she works well with her co-workers and is wonderful with the residents. Salem is always willing to pick up extra shifts to help out, and she remains calm while working under pressure.

Salem’s favorite thing about working at SpringBrook is connecting with the residents and getting to know them better; they truly motivate her to work harder every day.

Salem recalls a special time with a resident; they went to the lobby where the resident played the piano and they sang together. It was a fun and memorable time for them both.

When she’s not working, Salem enjoys hiking, camping, and working out at the gym.

January Employee of the Month

Department: Healthcare

Doreen, a Medication Technician, and Resident Care Assistant, was nominated because of her helpful attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for tenants. Doreen says that she appreciates the “teamwork” atmosphere, everyone is willing to help and pitch in when needed. She says her favorite thing about working at SpringBrook is how complementary the tenants and residents are. They are almost always upbeat and grateful; they make her feel appreciated. Doreen says the scheduling is very flexible, and just about anyone can find their “niche” here at Springbrook. Doreen contributes her success to the fact that she is cautious about avoiding burnout. Even though she often helps out by picking up extra shifts, she is protective of her weekends off. During that time, she will rest and recharge by enjoying her snowmobile or four-wheeler and spending time with her dog or her grandson. Doreen enjoys connecting with residents, such as finding people from the same small town she grew up in (Mindoro). Doreen enjoys the tenants who joke around and make her laugh by trying to scare her in the hallways, and many little things like that make her days more enjoyable. Thank you for being part of the SpringBrook Team Doreen!

December Employee of the Month

Marriah is SpringBrook’s December Employee of the month! Marriah is a great communicator throughout all of her work, and she is excellent with both residents and also with training new employees. Marriah says her compassion, dependability, and attention to detail all combine to help her excel as one of our best care staff. Marriah’s favorite parts of SpringBrook are the residents and the staff. She would like all future employees to know about SpringBrook’s great teamwork and communication.
